 Abstract Submission

The instructions to prepare and submit abstracts are the same for contributed papers and poster presentations. The Scientific Program Committee will group presentations appropriately. The program and abstracts will be printed and provided to all registered participants on arrival.

Instructions to prepare and submit abstracts are as follows:

 1. Abstracts may be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese. If in Spanish or Portuguese, please provide an English title.

2. Abstracts must include author(s), institutional affiliation(s), an optional e-mail address for one author, title, text, and type of presentation. Underline the name of the author making the presentation. Use 12 point Arial font throughout. Abstract format example follows:

We studied Double-toothed Kites (Harpagus bidentatus) in tropical lowland forest at Tikal National Park, Petén, Guatemala, documenting behavior and diet during the incubation and nestling periods. These 200-g kites are Accipiter-like in form and strikingly size-dimorphic for a kite. Modal clutch size was two, producing 0.63 fledglings per nesting attempt and 1.25 per successful nest. 3. Abstracts must be no more than 250 words long. The word count includes author(s), institutional affiliation(s), the optional e-mail address, title, and text. The final line specifying the type of preferred presentation will be excluded from the word count and from the printed abstract.

4. Abstracts must be received by 1 May 2009. The program committee will evaluate abstracts as they are received. Criteria for acceptance will include clear presentation of previously unpublished work.

5. Abstracts must be saved and submitted in Word Format

6. Abstracts should be submitted as an attached file by e-mail to: mbechard@boisestate.edu

Write “Conference Abstract” in the subject field.

Important Information:

 

Slide, overhead transparency, and digital projectors will be available for oral sessions. Digital presentation files must be in Microsoft PowerPoint form and may be saved on compact disks, or USB drives. Please note that only Windows-based computers will be available. Macs will not be available. Kindly ensure your files are Windows compatible. With advance notice (please make this clear in your correspondence), we may be able to  make available other multimedia equipment (e.g. VCR).

Poster information will be provided on acceptance of a poster presentation.

 If too many abstracts are submitted for oral presentation, you may be asked to present your paper as a poster.
